INNER HARMONY COUNSELLING

British Columbia & Ontario

Debbie Seeley

Hi there!

I’m Debbie Seeley, a registered social worker and clinical counsellor. I offer online counselling and phone therapy for youth (16+), adults, and older adults in British Columbia and Ontario, and in-person counselling for individuals living in and around Coquitlam, BC.

I started Inner Harmony Counselling as a desire to provide and create a person-centered space for healing. I provide a safe, accepting, compassionate, authentic, and attentive space free of judgment. I work from a relational foundation, in partnership with the people I walk alongside with. My practice is committed to anti-oppressive, anti-discriminatory and anti-racist work.

My therapeutic approach

At Inner Harmony Counselling, I take the time to explore with curiosity individual experiences, and find ways to process, heal, and let go of painful emotions and other barriers that hold people back. The personal values, preferences, expectations, and cultural influences that each client brings strongly influence that way I work. I employ evidence-based practices that have been effective in creating positive change through an integrated, collaborative approach to care.  Together we will explore how to uncover and align your values and yearnings with behaviors. I also use humor when suitable in sessions, as a way to connect and reduce tension. My interest in becoming a counsellor came from my own lived experience and recovery from trauma. This path has inspired my passion to walk beside the people I work with, and to be a part of their healing process.

Philosophy

Being out of harmony with our emotions, physical wellbeing, and mental states can lead to feeling fragmented, upset, confused, and stressed. Like the symbolic harmony rocks, one rock out of place can result in feeling unbalanced. I can work with you to actively engage in re-building your inner rocks to create more peace in your life and to find balance of body, mind, and spirit. We each have the resources within ourselves, and part of the journey is uncovering our natural abilities to heal, leading to a happier more balanced life.
